API & Integrations

Connect to the Global AI Regulation Tracker through the API, MCP server or an embedded widget. Compare plans and find the setup instructions in one place.

API

🔌 Plug into the tracker

This API service enables real-time programmatic access to the global AI regulation news data behind this tracker.

Search and retrieve the news updates for any given date and/or country under the following categories: Latest Macro Developments | Sector Developments | Bilateral & Multilateral Developments.

You can also search for items under the categories of Official Materials | Acts, Bills & Reforms | Guidelines, Frameworks & Standards | Executive & Regulatory Instruments (to the extent that category is available on the country's profile).

Use case ideas:

  • Starting a newsletter of AI regulation updates within your organisation
  • Creating your own private chatbot or news alert on AI regulation
  • Building an educational website or public repository on AI regulation

Licence terms apply. See below.

⚡ Usage

See tutorial guide here: A data science approach to tracking AI regulation

Implementation via:

Values for "target_news" or "targetNews" parameters:

Parameter value Corresponding title on the tracker
latest_news Latest Macro Developments
sector_news Sector Developments
bilateral_multilateral_news Bilateral & Multilateral Developments
official_materials Official Materials
acts_bills_reform Acts, Bills & Reforms
orders_admin_regs Executive & Regulatory Instruments | Executive Orders (US) | Measures, Provisions & Regulations (China)
guidelines_standards_frameworks Guidelines, Frameworks & Standards

Values for the "market" (Python) or "countryCode" (NodeJS, cURL) parameter:

Supply a country's ISO code (e.g. AU, CN, US), a jurisdiction or regional bloc code (e.g. Europe for the European Union, ASEAN, OECD), or a US state code (e.g. US-CA for California). Use "global" to search across all jurisdictions at once. For the full list of every accepted code and its corresponding name — including all US states — in ready-to-copy array format, see the Country & market codes reference.

🔤 Language Support

To retrieve other data in other languages, specify the optional parameter "lang_code" (Python) or "langCode" (NodeJS, cURL) parameter in the relevant .call() method.

If lang_code / langCode is not specified (or omitted) from your .call() method, the API will default to English.

The API service currently supports English and Chinese (simplified). More languages will be added in the future.

Parameter value Language
eng English
chn Chinese (simplified)

🔑 API key

Every request above needs a valid API key. Keys come with a subscription, and the same key also covers the MCP server, the AI search and the embed widget.

🤖 Connect the tracker to your AI assistant

Research AI regulation, compare jurisdictions and keep your findings up to date, inside your AI assistant. Connect Global AI Regulation Tracker to a compatible assistant such as Claude. Ask in plain English; your assistant retrieves tracker sources, explains the findings and links supporting claims directly to their sources.

Start with free country research, a global headline preview or one complete comparison trial. A subscription adds full global roundups, larger comparisons, saved business profiles and updates to your earlier research.

Coverage comes from the same dataset as this website: country, territory, US state and international profiles, with topic, activity and sector filters.

What you can do

  • Catch up on global developments. Ask for the past seven days, or specify another number of days. Paid roundups group developments by region and include summaries and source links.
  • Compare rules across jurisdictions. Set the markets and questions that matter to you. Your assistant writes a comparison with contextual inline source links and saves the completed review to your account.
  • Check the underlying sources. Find laws and regulator materials, and retrieve supporting publisher text for key findings in a saved review. Retrieval supports web pages and text PDFs where accessible.
  • Update an earlier review. Ask what has changed. Supported revisions are saved as a separate, unreviewed draft; your accepted findings stay intact until you accept an update.
  • See exactly what changed. Read revised findings as a redline, or export a Word document with tracked changes. PDF exports are available too.
  • Keep research relevant to your business. Save a confirmed profile of your activities, AI use cases and markets, then use it to give comparisons and update checks more context.

Open My reviews to read your archived comparisons and download reports. Accepted reviews open first; proposed updates have a separate Review changes action. On a phone, select a jurisdiction to read its findings without scrolling across a wide table.

Scheduled monitoring and email digests are not available yet. You can ask your assistant to check a saved review for updates whenever you need.

Your assistant writes the analysis from the retrieved material. Tracker summaries and source links do not, by themselves, verify the legal text, its current version or complete coverage of a topic.

Paid update-check allowances are 10 on Mini, 30 on Standard, 100 on Pro and 250 on Commercial per calendar month, resetting on the first day of the month in UTC. Global roundups do not use this review-update allowance.

Ask “Check my account access, trial status and remaining update allowance.” for your account’s current availability. Existing saved reviews remain readable and exportable after a subscription ends.

To use a subscription, ask your assistant to connect your tracker account, sign in and allow the connection. Compare prices on the Plans & Pricing tab.

Existing API keys still work for research integrations. Saved reviews, profiles and account allowances require an account connection with review access. If you connected before saved reviews were introduced, reconnect and allow review access.

📄 Licence terms

The same terms that govern the API govern the MCP server, available here: Commercial Terms of Service.

Please keep the attribution the server returns with each response — Global AI Regulation Tracker (www.techieray.com/GlobalAIRegulationTracker) — when you reproduce or publish results.

Widgets

🧩 Display the tracker on your own website

The Global AI Regulation Tracker is now available as a widget 🚀

You can now include the tracker as an <iframe> or <embed> element into the HTML of your website, dashboard, intranet page, etc.

The widget is basically a lightweight version of this tracker, with personal commentary and marks removed so that you can white-label and apply your own marks.

⚡ Usage

Simply add the below snippet into the HTML code of your website. You will need to insert your registered key at the [***INSERT REGISTERED KEY***] part. Without a valid key, the widget will not display. See "Register key" section below.

<div style=”border: 1px solid #ccc; border-radius: 8px;”>

🔑 What happens when you subscribe

When you click Subscribe, you are redirected to a Stripe payment page. Payment is facilitated and secured by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own terms and policies.

If payment succeeds, you are redirected to a page containing your unique API key. That one key opens the API, the MCP server and, on Pro and Commercial, the embed widget. Sign in with the same email address and it also raises the AI search allowance in the chat panel.

🖥️ What a plan adds on the MCP server

The MCP server works with no API key for country research and a preview of up to three global headlines. Sign in with a verified account to try one complete comparison, including saving and Word/PDF export. A subscription adds full global roundups, comparisons of up to ten jurisdictions, confirmed business profiles and checks for changes to saved research, with separate drafts and tracked-change exports.

Your tracker subscription also works with the MCP server. Ask your assistant to connect your tracker account, then sign in and allow access. Existing API keys remain supported. Setup instructions for each client are on the MCP Server panel.

🧩 The embed widget

The widget is included with the Pro and Commercial plans. There is no separate embed subscription: paste the same API key your plan already gives you into the id parameter of the iframe snippet. The widget will not display on a Mini or Standard key.

The snippet, a demo and the setup notes are on the Embed Widget panel.

Widget use follows the licence terms of the plan the key belongs to. On Pro the widget is for internal organisational use, not for a public or customer facing site, and not for commercial use. On Commercial the widget may be placed on a public or customer facing site.

📄 Licence terms and what they mean
