Regulation Status

• Ukraine does not yet have binding, comprehensive AI-specific legislation in force. Current approach is based on voluntary guidelines, white papers, and sectoral recommendations, with a focus on business self-regulation and alignment with international standards. The government has signaled intent to introduce AI legislation similar to the EU AI Act in the future, but as of now, regulation remains non-binding and preparatory. National security concerns have led to targeted sanctions and calls for international controls on AI technologies with military applications.
