Regulation Status
- On the basis of the available record, Suriname has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law captured in the digest; its engagement to date is endorsement of a regional AI governance declaration rather than a dedicated national AI statute.
- Suriname signed the Cartagena Declaration on AI governance in August 2024 alongside 16 other Latin American countries, committing among other things to adherence to UNESCO's ethics recommendations from the AI for Good Global Summit.
