Regulation Status

• On the basis of the available record, Sierra Leone has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law captured in the digest; its engagement to date is a national digital strategy rather than a dedicated AI statute or regulator.
• Sierra Leone's documented approach to AI is set out in its National Innovation and Digital Strategy (2019-2029), which calls for a "Country-as-AI-Lab" approach using AI and data science to address societal challenges, and emphasises applied data science for governance, evidence-based policy frameworks and citizen-centred design.
