Regulation Status

• The strategy focuses on developing human capacity, fostering responsible AI governance and creating regional synergies; on the basis of the available record, Senegal has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law captured in the digest, relying on this national strategy rather than a dedicated AI statute.
• Senegal launched its National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence in September 2023, overseen by the Ministry of Communication, Telecommunications and the Digital Economy (MCTEN) and building on the existing Digital Strategy 2025 and National Data Strategy.
