Regulation Status
- New Caledonia does not have an active strategy or policy around AI. However, in August 2020, a Digital Committee was established to oversee digital sector development and align efforts with the Digital Economy Strategic Plan. In October 2023, a commission dedicated to AI was formed to integrate AI into local businesses and address ethical, legal, and training challenges, with representatives from various sectors committing to monthly meetings to advance AI integration.
