- Lithuania has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific national law identified in the digest; activity to date centres on applying data-protection rules to AI tools.
- Lithuania's regulatory activity has centred on data protection concerns over the Chinese AI tool DeepSeek: in February 2025 the State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI) announced it was monitoring DeepSeek's compliance with the GDPR and warned individuals to be cautious about sharing personal or sensitive data, citing a lack of transparency and possible storage on servers in China.
- The Lithuanian parliament (Seimas) banned the use of DeepSeek on official devices in February 2025 over data-security concerns.
