Regulation Status

• Jordan has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law in the digest; it relies on national AI policy, strategy and an ethics charter, with its strategy calling for legislative review to support safe AI deployment.
• Jordan has built a policy and strategy framework for AI, including the Jordan Artificial Intelligence Policy (2020), a National Charter for Artificial Intelligence Ethics (2022) setting out principles such as accountability, transparency and privacy, and the Jordan AI Strategy and Implementation Plan 2023-2027, which aims to ensure a legislative and regulatory environment supporting safe AI deployment.
• Jordan engages internationally, signing a 2025 memorandum of cooperation with Kazakhstan on digital development including AI and aligning with the Arab League's 2025 call for an AI regulatory framework.
