Hungary therefore now has a dedicated national AI Act in addition to applying the EU AI Act as an EU member state, with the GVH active on AI-related competition and consumer matters.

Hungary enacted its first Artificial Intelligence Act, Act LXXV of 2025, to create a legal framework for responsible AI use, aligned with the EU AI Act and Hungary's updated September 2025 AI Strategy, designating authorities to certify AI-system compliance and oversee market surveillance.
