Regulation Status

• The Faroe Islands have no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law evident in the record; the available activity is a non-binding Nordic data protection declaration.
• The Faroe Islands' regulatory activity on AI to date is confined to international cooperation: in May 2024, alongside the data protection authorities of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland, it joined a Nordic declaration committing to cooperate on protecting children's privacy in online games and on regulating AI in relation to the GDPR.
