Regulation Status

• Although the Cook Islands does not have a national AI strategy, it has made significant progress in its digital transformation with the launch of its National Digital Strategy for 2024 to 2030. Supported by the UNDP, this strategy focuses on infrastructure, capacity building, enabling environment, talent development, innovation, and the digital private sector. These priorities align with the region's 2050 Strategy for the digital economy and sustainable digital technologies. Additionally, the Cook Islands launched its National Security Policy and ICT Policy in 2023, emphasizing national security pillars and reaffirming the UN's commitment to supporting the nation's digital transformation.
