- Bosnia and Herzegovina has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific national law; engagement to date is through the Council of Europe convention and national strategy.
- Its 2021–2027 Development Strategy recognises AI's strategic importance and proposes establishing an institute to promote AI development in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- In December 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina signed the Council of Europe's Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, the first international legally binding treaty in the field.
