- Belarus has no comprehensive, binding AI-specific law in force in the record; a draft AI law is at the planning stage.
- Belarus is collaborating with Russia to build a sovereign large language model based on 'traditional values', announced in July 2025, aiming for trustworthy AI providing objective information.
- Belarus reported plans in November 2024 to develop a draft law on AI technologies (via the Council of Ministers, the National Academy of Sciences and the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information), setting out main definitions, goals and objectives of state policy in the area.
